All About Abbie…

Hi, thank you for making it far enough into my blog that you’ve made it to the about me page!

My name is Abbie and I discovered that I had a passion for teaching, particularly language teaching nearly 4 years ago. I am currently a student at the University of Sunderland, studying a dual honours degree in English Language and TESOL.

Either this summer or next I plan to undertake a CELTA teaching course. When I graduate from my current degree I plan to continue my education for another year by either gaining a PGCE or a TESOL Masters.

I’m doing all of this with the aim of becoming an ESL Teacher or university lecturer in South Korea.

Now why South Korea? Well I fell in love with the country and the culture when I was in my early teens. I came across a Kpop group on YouTube called Sistar and that’s where my interest began. Over the past few years I have learned so much about South Korea and I can honestly say I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. The country has an incredible history and is rich with culture and this was proved to me on a recent visit to Seoul. South Korea also has an excellent working climate and a powerful economy. Moving abroad is not something that I take lightly and it is something that I have gave great consideration to.

So please, join me on my journey through university and gaining my qualifications to get myself where I want to be. Along the way there’ll be Kpop, food, history, and lots of pictures!

Thank you so much,
